GRE preparation often stalls in the same place: you know the math, you know the words, and you are still losing points to question types you have not done enough of. The bank lets you pick the type and the difficulty and do enough of them to change that.
Why practice by question type
- Much of the GRE's difficulty is in its formats — quantitative comparison, sentence equivalence, text completion with three blanks — as well as in its content.
- The GRE is adaptive by section: the second Verbal and Quant sections are set by how you did on the first. A practice test therefore gives you a limited number of the hardest questions; the bank lets you choose them.
- Questions come with an explanation, which on text completion means the reasoning that rules out the near-miss answers.
- Filtering by difficulty lets you work where you need to improve, rather than confirming what you can already do.

- Does it include quantitative comparison questions?
- Yes. Quantitative comparison is included throughout the Quantitative topics rather than kept as a separate exercise.
- How is vocabulary handled?
- Through the question types that test it — text completion and sentence equivalence — rather than as word lists, so words are practiced in context.
- Is Analytical Writing worth buying?
- It depends on how the programs you are applying to use the Analytical Writing score. It is sold separately so you can leave it out.
- Can I filter by difficulty?
- Yes — easy, medium and hard, in any combination.
