PTE Academic Question Bank
PTE Academic is a computer-based test of about two hours in three parts, built from many short task types. The bank is organized by task type: pick the task, pick the difficulty, and repeat it until the format is familiar.
Why practice by task type
- PTE Academic has many different task types. If a few of them are costing you points, sitting the whole test again and again to reach those tasks is slow.
- Two speaking tasks, Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation, were added for tests from 7 August 2025. Both are in the bank, next to the task types that were already on the test.
- Since the August 2025 update, Pearson's scoring combines automated scoring with human rating for some responses.
- Filtering by difficulty lets you repeat one task type at the level you need.

- Which task types are included?
- The task types listed above for Speaking and Writing, Reading and Listening, including Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation, the two speaking tasks Pearson added for tests from 7 August 2025.
- Can I practice the speaking tasks?
- Yes. The Speaking and Writing section of the bank includes the speaking task types, including the two added in August 2025.
- How is PTE Academic scored now?
- The overall score runs from 10 to 90. Since the August 2025 update, Pearson combines automated scoring with human rating for some responses.
- Does it help with the essay?
- Yes. Write Essay and Summarize Written Text are both included in the Speaking and Writing section.
