Question Bank

Digital SAT Question Bank

A full-length test tells you your score. It does not tell you that you are losing most of those marks on two skills out of thirty. The question bank is for the work that comes after the diagnostic: choosing one skill, one difficulty, and doing enough of it to fix the problem.

Why practise by skill

  • A practice test gives you roughly one or two questions per skill. That is not enough to tell a weakness from an unlucky question, let alone to fix one.
  • Every question carries a worked explanation, not just a letter. Reviewing why the distractor was attractive is where most of the improvement actually happens.
  • Filtering by difficulty lets you work at the edge of what you can do. Practising easy questions you already get right feels productive and moves nothing.
  • Questions used in our full-length practice tests are held back from the bank, so a test still measures you rather than checking what you have already seen.

Question bank FAQs

How is this different from taking practice tests?
A practice test measures; the question bank trains. A test gives you one or two questions per skill, which is enough to reveal a weakness and nowhere near enough to fix it. Most students use a test to find the gap, then the bank to close it, then another test to check.
Are the explanations written out?
Yes. Every question has a worked explanation covering why the correct answer is correct and, where it matters, why each wrong option was written to look attractive. On Reading and Writing that per-choice reasoning is usually the more useful half.
Can I practise a single skill?
That is the point of it. You choose a section, then a skill, then which difficulties to include, and practise only that. It is the difference between studying and doing more questions.
Do I get the same questions as in the practice tests?
No. Any question used in a full-length practice test is excluded from the bank, so sitting a test after using the bank still gives you a real measurement rather than a memory check.

Not sure which section is costing you marks?

Sit a full-length practice test first. It will tell you where to point the bank.
